Future Champions Golf takes the National Tour out to San Marcos at St. Marks Golf Club to challenge the competitors on this demanding course. With large slope differences between holes, players had to think on their feet during the round. The College Prep Boys were the first division to all come in after some tough golf, and after being rained out on the second day, the rules officials decided that only the first day’s rounds would count. Atop the leader board after 18 holes of play is Gun il Moon from Korea after he shot 69(-2). Hyunjin Kim, also from Korea, would shoot 71(E) to solidify his second place finish. Third place was a card off between two players, both of whom are from Korea, Daesik Kim, and Kyutae Park would shoot 72(+1), but Daesik Kim would take home the third place award after making birdie on 17 thus winning the card off. Congratulations to all players in our Boys College Prep division, we look forward to your next FCG National Tour Event.
The College Prep Girls division is the next one up to have its time in the limelight. Casey Syal from Los Angeles would be our leader and champion after 18 holes of play with her round of 76(+5). Second place was awarded to Vera Markevich from La Quinta, CA after her round of 78(+7). Cameron Lee from Tustin, CA takes third place after shooting 79(+8). Congratulations to all players in our Girls College Prep division, we look forward to having you at our next National Tour event.
Eric Zhang from San Diego would take on the harsh weather and shoot 77(+6) to champion the Boys 13-14 Divison after 18 holes of play. The Girls 14 and under division would be a battle between some very good players. Karen Tsuru from Carlsbad, CA would shoot 78(+6) and would win the division! Victoria Lee from Carlsbad would shoot 81(+9) to solidify her second place finish. Jaycie Stewart from San Diego, CA takes home the third place award after shooting 82(+10). Congratulations to all 14 and under players, we look forward to seeing you at the next FCG National Tour event.
