Last weekend, the National Tour headed out to The Legends Golf Club. The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills offers a rolling topography with five lakes, numerous doglegs, beautiful challenging greens, and has become one of Temecula’s premier golfing facilities. This 6,547 yard Ted Robinson Design was opened in 1995 to rave reviews and since then the golf course has been freshly updated by P. Dye. The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills now offers exciting wine country golf for the novice player all the way up to the most experience tournament player. Top finishers in this event also earn an exemption into the 2018 FCG Callaway World Championship next July in Rancho Mirage, CA. Let’s see how they did:
For the Girl’s college prep division, who played the white tees, we had Kendra Lee from Irvine, CA come in first with scores of 80 + 70 for a total 150. There was a tie for second place at 8-over 152 between Yuree Huh from San Diego, CA (79 + 73) and Lauren Metcalf from Yuma, AZ (76 + 76). Ties are determined by a card-off, in which FCG goes by second day low. Winning that card-off and taking home second was Huhand taking home third was Metcalf.
For the Boys college prep, who played the gold tees, we had Xzavier Casarez from San Bernardino, CA come in first with consecutive 69’s for a total 6-under 138. Coming in second place was Jack Townsend from San Diego, CA with scores of 69 + 73 for a total 2-under 142 and coming in third place was Raymond Kim from Irvine, CA with scores of 73 + 70 for a total 143. For the Girls 13-14, who played the red tees, we had Lauren Sammon from Murrieta, CA come in first with scores of 76 + 82 for a total 158. Coming in second place was Kristian Wilmes from Carlsbad, CA with scores of 86 + 76 for a total 162 and coming in third place was Sofina Firouzi from Rancho Santa Fe, CA with scores of 82 + 81 for a total 163.
For the Boys 13-14 division, who played the blue tees, we had Freddy Sun from Vancouver, BC come in first with scores of 78 + 70 for a total 140. Coming in second place was Nathan Sampson from Temecula, Ca with scores of 72 + 77 for a total 149 and coming in third place was Jacob Paule from Chula Vista, CA with consecutive 77’s for a total 154.
For the Girls 12 &under division, who played the red tees, we had Michelle Liu from Vancouver, BC come in first with scores of 74 + 77 for a total 151 and coming in second place was JJ Wan from Pukalani, HI with scores of 97 + 92 for a total 189.
For the Boys 11-12 division, who played the red tees, we had Benjamin Singer, CA from Del Mar, CA come in first with scores of 75 + 86 for a total 161 and coming in second place was Gerry Chang from Rancho Santa Fe, CA with consecutive 88’s for a total 176. Pictured with them is boys 10-under division champ, Horry Ren from Del Mar, CA with scores of 91 & 93 for a total 184.
This events exemption earners are: Kendra Lee, Jack Townsend, Lauren Sammon, Nathan Sampson, Michelle Liu and Gerry Chang.
This event’s earning of the deep sauce low first round went to Xzavier Casarez who shot 3-under 69.
