Personal Statement: I started golf at seven because of my dad, who took me to Heron Lakes Golf Course to play with my uncle. Around age nine, I got serious about golf. I vividly remember my first tournament at Chinook Winds at Lincoln Beach. Unfortunately, I played against one of the best junior golfers who utterly destroyed me. That loss taught me how good I had to be and how much harder I needed to work. I mainly starting out with OGA and U.S Kids now finding myself playing in OGA, PNW, AJGA, WJGA, and Notah Bogey III national championship.
Golf is a lifestyle, where I travel to tournaments nearly every week. The grind is something I’ve always enjoyed. It is a game that rewards patience with skill and, as a lifetime sport, it is something I can play even when I’m old.
Not only is golf a lifestyle but a passageway to a community. Golf gathers all kinds of people together, from the very young to the very old who all get to play together; united by a simple love of playing golf. Through my local club alone I’ve met people as young as seven to as old as seventy. Each with drastically different experiences.
