Kids Tour At Sycuan Golf Resort, Pine Glen

Future Champions Golf finds itself at Sycuan Resort on the Pine Glen Course for our latest Kids Tour event. The greens were as pure as ever on the executive course, and the players fired in some amazing rounds. Without further ado let’s get right down to our champion spotlight!

First into the books after 18 holes is our Boys 11-14 division. Leading the pack and taking home the championship is Nikko De Castro from National City who would shoot an impressive 60 (+6). Second place would go to Justin Pak of Redondo Beach after shooting 64 (+10) for the tournament, winning the card off. Christopher Liu from La Jolla would take home the third place after also shooting 64 (+10) but just losing in the card off against Pak. Congratulations to all players in this division, we look forward to having you at our next event.

Next onto the leaderboard is the boys 9-10 division. Antonio Barbosa of Chula vista would take home the first place award after shooting 61 (+7). The second place award goes to Ryan Vo from San Diego after his round of 63 (+9). Last to be awarded, finishing in third place after a solid round of 64 (+10) is Michael Geng from San Diego. Congratulations to all players, we look forward to having you at our net kids tour event.

Third into the books is the boys 7-8 division. Finishing in first place after 9 holes of steady golf is Thomas Browning from Carlsbad who would shoot 30 (+3) for 9 holes. Second place was awarded to Quincy Costales of San Marcos after a consistent round of 39 (+12). Dale Swartwood from San Diego would shoot 41 (+14) and win the three way card off ot take home the third place trophy. Congratulations to all players in our boys 7-8 division, we look forward to watching you play at the next event.

The final Boys division to come in is our 6 and under division. Don’t let their size fool you, these boys can flat out play. Evan Liu from La Jolla demonstrated exactly that after firing in a round of 34 (+7) and winning the sudden death playoff. Though Keita Yobiko of Arcadia would lose the playoff, his round of 34 (+7) is quite the achievement on a course such as this, and second place is still something to be proud of. Connor Szczechowicz from Chula Vista would shoot 42 (+15), thus solidifying his third place finish. Congratulations to all players in this division, we look forward to seeing you at the next kids tour event.

Now for the girls 11-14 division to show us how they did. Kristian Wilmes from Carlsbad would be our shampion after her round of 67 (+13) after 18 holes. The second place trophy would go to Breegan Ohearn of San Diego after she would shoot 75 (+21). Sofina Firouzi from Rancho Santa Fe shot 83 (+29) and took home third place after her competitive appearance on the course. Congratulations to all players in this division, we look forward to seeing you at the next event.

Moving on to our girls 9-10 division, Michelle An from Riverside would take home the championship after shooting 66(+12). Second place was awarded to Sky Pascual from San Diego after her round of 72(+18). Kayla Geng who is also from San Diego was our third place winner after her 18 holes round of 76(+22). Congratulations to all players who finished today’s round, we look forward to having you at the next event.

With only two division remaining in our champions spotlight, our girls 7-8 division takes the stage. Brynn Kort from Kingman, AZ would strut her stuff after shooting 36(+9) to take home the first place award. Second place belongs to Summer Schafer from Ramona after her round of 40(+13), a consistent day on the course all in all. Third place would go to Jessica Hudson from San Marcos after shooting 44(+17) for the day. Congratulations to all finishers in our girls 7-8 division. We look forward to having you at the next event.

The last division to go up on the leader board, though certainly not the least, is our girls 6 and under division. Emma Molina from La Mesa and Zoe Salinas from San Diego would face off against each other. After nine holes of hotly contested play Emma Molina would emerge victorious after shooting 44(+17). Zoe Salinas was hot on her heels after shooting 45(+18), only a stroke behind her friend. Congratulations to you both, we look forward to seeing you girls tear it up at our next event.

Lastly, as we close out this champion spotlight, Future Champions Golf would like to recognize and thank Sycuan Golf Resort for allowing us to host our event at their facility.
