A wonderful golf course that is owned and operated by the the city of San Clemente and is located approximately one hour from the the Pacific Ocean which can make scoring difficult at times if the winds pick up. Golfers were eager and ready to see how the tournament would pan out on Saturday with 4 different categories in competition including a 13 player college prep division. So, without further ado, let’s see how these junior golfer were able to fair in beautiful San Clemente.

The Boys College Prep division had a field of thirteen, but weather conditions and different elements brought on a tough challenge for these junior golfers. William Hartford of La Jolla seemed to find a groove on saturday shooting a stellar 71 and following it up with a smooth 73 in order to take home first place by seven shots. Raymond Li of Rancho Santa Fe followed up his first round score with a solid 74 on day two and rode that wave into second place. Sean Breen of Temecula was tied for second on the first day and managed to hold off a charging field and take home third place for the weekend. Great tournament boys, way to hang in there.

The girls 14 and under division played two rounds of golf this past weekend and even though some of the scoring conditions were tough this group of girls toughed it out in order to make it onto the podium. Summer Yang of San Diego was a beacon of consistency shooting two round in the low eighties in order to claim victory and take home the trophy. Victoria Lee of Carlsbad took home second place honors and Sofina Firouzi of Rancho Santa Fe took home a solid third place finish.

Troy Tarvin of Huntington Beach was the lone representative of the boys 10-12 year old division and played some solid golf en route to seven hundred and fifty points added to overall point total for the year. Great job, Troy!

Ethan Craft of Dana Point had the daunting task of playing two rounds in tough conditions but stuck it out with two gutsy rounds and took home the first place trophy in the Boys 10 and under division.
