Power and Pureness of the Human Spirit

I have been blessed on this journey to experience the power and pureness of the human spirit.  In a dark world, that I live in 24/7 365 constantly shadowed by mortality and the beast, when I see someone “Don’t ask, just Do” I feel the essence of a NEDvocate.  Wayne Anderson’s story is a testament to the power of the human spirit. As an immigrant from Jamaica, he arrived in the United States knowing that opportunity, though vast, wouldn’t come without effort. Yet, he carried something more valuable than any material possession: the wealth of kindness and giving instilled in him by his family.

Coming from humble beginnings, Wayne learned early on that true wealth lies in the ability to help others. This philosophy became the cornerstone of his life, particularly when supporting those facing similar challenges, understood through his own battle with prostate cancer.  As a teammate on the gridiron at U Albany, NY Wayne was a star on the field and made an even bigger imapct off the field.

When I established the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric cancer Wayne didn’t ask, he just did what his what is in his DNA to support these children fighting for their lives. Leveraging his expertise as a PR and marketing professional, Wayne partnered with FOJ, forging connections with professional sports organizations like the NY Giants, NY Knicks, and Brooklyn Nets.Through these partnerships, countless children and families impacted by cancer were treated to unforgettable experiences. Imagine a child battling cancer suddenly finding themselves courtside at a basketball game, embraced by their favorite players and welcomed as part of the team. This is the magic Wayne helped create, using his skills and connections to bring joy and hope to those who needed it most.

But Wayne’s commitment extends beyond individual cases. He believes that giving back is an act and a way of life. His firm intentionally partners with non-profit organizations, amplifying their voices and highlighting their causes. Wayne understands that the most significant challenges often require collective action, and he dedicates himself to building a community of advocates who work together to create a better world.
