7/21: Special Thanks to World Golf Hall of Fame Member Sandra Palmer for being a part of the 2024 FCG Callaway World Championship
What a treat it was on the second day of the 2024 FCG Callaway World Championship. I was setting up for scoring in the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf shop when Phil Vigil the Director of Golf at the course introduced me to this sweet lady – Sandra Palmer… who just last month was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. She was so great to talk to and actually gave me one of her pins from the ceremony. She continued to tell stories about Harvey Penick, Tom Kite and others and it was just so great as I am a big golf history nut and love learning all I can about the game. Well that wasn’t all Sandra also took to the microphone the next day and said a few words to inspire the 15-18 Girls prior to tee off for the final round. Additionally she joined us for the Awards Ceremony back at the ballroom several hours later and again came on stage and wished players the best in their careers and offered advice on how to handle the bad shots. What an event and opportunity to meet Sandra and have her part of the event and we are so thankful. Hope she joins us for years to come as she is the new ambassador at the Westin Rancho Mirage and we loved having her at the event! Thanks Sandra!
