About the Course
The Pala Mesa Resort Golf Course is perhaps one of the most challenging courses in the whole of Southern California, and the perfect stage for the FCG Challenge Cup. The beautifully groomed eighteen hole, par 72, championship golf course is peppered with large oaks, sycamores, and elms is recognized as one of the most beautiful San Diego Golf Courses. The mountain views provide the backdrop and there are challenges at every turn with the tree-lined fairways and seemingly narrower front nine holes and the dramatic changes in elevation and visually wider fairways dominate the more scenic and gentler back nine.

About the Field
The FCG Challenge Cup field is limited to 90 elite players ages 13-18 all competing in a single division, with several players coming from all over the world. Each player was required to have a handicap of 8.0 or better, or they must have a tournament scoring average of 82 or better. Countries involved include China, Mexico, and several others. Sofia Chabon, a frequent player on the FCG Tour, will be making the trip from Cagayan de Oro City in the Philippines to take on Pauma Valley. There are also players from nearby states, and some that are not so nearby such as Hawaii. Jett Isoda from Las Vegas, Nevada is making the drive for a chance at glory on one of the most famous courses in Southern California.
