Future Champions Golf held its inaugural Arizona Championship in Chandler Arizona at the Ocotillo Resort. This nearly 6900 yard long course, with undulating greens and water on nearly every hole made from some great golf. The players met the challenge well for the two day tournament, with several players in contention in each division. Without further delay, let’s highlight some of our champions!
First up in our champion spotlight is the Girls 15-18 division. Katherine Chan from Richmond British Columbia would take home the championship after shooting 78-76 for a two day total of 154(+12). 2nd place went to Tara Greig of Gilbert Arizona after she fired in 84-82 for a tournament total of 166(+24). Taylor Harvey from Phoenix Arizona would take home the third place award after shooting 82-89 totaling 171(+29) for the two days. Congratulations to all players in this division, we look forward to having you at our next World Series event!
Next we have the Boys 15-18 division. Gabriel Velarde from Mesa Arizona would shoot 75-68 for a two day total 143(+1) to solidify his victory. Second place was awarded to Jake Guess from Mesa Arizona, who shot 75-70 to total 145(+3) for the tournament. Lastly we have Cole Harris from Tucson Arizona who would take home the third place award after shooting 75-75 for a two day total of 150 (+8).Congratulations to all players in the field, we look forward to having you at the next World Series event.
Next up in the spotlight is our Girls 13-14 division, with Ashley Menne From Surprise Arizona would walk home the victor after shooting 70-75 for a two day total of 145(+3). Sophia Bian from Vancouver finished in second place after shooting 76-79 to total 155(+13) for the tournament. The boys 13-14 division is next to shine in our spotlight. Mahanth Chirravuri from Chandler Arizona would be our victor after shooting 70-74 for a two day total of 144(+2). Second place went to Ethan Adam of Chandler Arizona after shooting 71-75 for a tournament total of 146(+4). Taking home the third place award is Brody Marconi from Portland Oregon after he shot 76-77 to total 153(+11) for the tournament. Our final girls division is the Girls 11-12, which had Sherri Yang from Vancouver shooting 81-77 for a two day total of 158(+16) to take home the victory. Second place went to Lauren Garcia from Gilbert Arizona after she shot 86-78 for a two day total 164(+22). Darlene Maitem from Anthem Arizona would shoot 82-83 for a tournament total of 165(+23) to solidify her third place finish. Wrapping up our champion spotlight is the boys 11-12 division. Anawin Pikulthong from Gilbert Arizona shot 72-73 for a two day total of 145 (+3) to walk away as the division’s champion. Second place was awarded to Johnnie Clark from Mesa Arizona after his rounds of 69-77 for a tournament total of 146(+4). Finally, third place was awarded to Charlie Palmer from Paradise Valley Arizona after he shot 82-74 to total 156(+14) for the tournament. Congratulations to all players in this division, we look forward to having you at the next FCG event.
