Kids Tour Fall Series- Pine Glen

The Kids Tour Fall Series made a stop at Sycuan Golf Resort over the weekend. Players and parents alike were excited for the opportunity to try their best to tackle Pine Glen. An 18 hole par 3 course that provides players with challenging, tight tee shots and a difficult two putt if players place their tee shot above the hole. The players were split up into 6 different categories with boys and girls competing for a place on the podium. The sun was out and the wind was non-existent as players started their rounds with hopes of it being their best round ever. Let’s see how they did.

fullsizerender-8The boys 11-14 year old division had eleven players registered for the event all of them enthusiastic about their opportunity to play their greatest golf. Daniel Zhao took advantage of two birdies including one on the final hole in order to catapult himself into a first place finish with an 18 hole score of 61 (+7) for the tournament. Christopher Liu had himself two birdies of his own but made just one more bogey than Daniel and landed in tie for second place for the tournament with a score of 62 (+8) for the tournament. Jacob Zhang had one birdie on the card en route to a score of 62(+8) and a T2 finish. Great goin’ kids!

fullsizerender-9The girls 11-14 year old division had five players competing for the day and no one was better than Kayelyn Parr who made had six pars for the round en route to a solid first place finish. Breegan O’Hearn had herself three pars on the day which allowed her to claim second place for the event. Fiona Paterson and Yasmin Lissa Fukushima shared third place honors carding a total of five pars between the two of them. Great goin’ girls, keep it up!

fullsizerender-5The boys 9-10 year old division had a twelve player field in action for the tournament and the competition was fierce. Nobody had a better day than Colin Li who was a benchmark for consistency carding just three bogeys and a whopping fifteen pars and a score of 57(+3), good enough for the top spot! Ryan Vo had an amazing day carding twelve pars on his round en route to a total of 61 (+7) for the tournament and a great second place finish. Kai Salinas knocked in a birdie on the difficult fifth hole which catapulted him into a third place finish with a score of 63(+9) for the tournament. Great job boys, keep those birdies coming!

fullsizerender-10The girls 9-10 year old division had a seven player field that provided some great golf and great times amongst the girls. Kayla Geng had herself a day to remember carding three birdies en route to a 57 (+3) for the tournament and the top spot for her division. Sky Pascual had a very exciting finish to her round, knocking in a birdie on the final hole of competition which allowed her to turn in a round of 63(+9) for the tournament and a solid second place finish. Zoe Salinas knocked in a birdie on the sixteenth hole of competition and played the last three holes at even par which allowed her to turn in a score of 69(+15) for the tournament and a great third place finish. Way to go girls! Keep those birdies coming!

fullsizerender-6The boys 7-8 age division had an exciting tournament with three players in the field and all of them ending either tied for first or one stroke behind! Orlando Torres and Caleb Villicana each ended up with a total score of 43 (+16) for the tournament and had to go to a playoff to decide the winner where Orlando Torres came out on top and the first place trophy. Caleb Viilicana took home a solid second place and rounding out the podium with a score of 44(+17) for the tournament was Santiago Torres. Super job, Kids!

fullsizerender-7The girls 7-8 girls division were a blast to watch as Emma Molina took home first place honors with a score of 40 (+13) for the day and Janette Dunn came in second with a solid score of 48 (+21) for the tournament. Super job, girls! You were awesome!

 
The Kids Tour Fall Series events are designed to provide a fun atmosphere with a professional feel to them to provide kids with tournament experience as they grow into the game.
