Future Champions made it’s way out to Reidy Creek this past Sunday to host one of our Kids Tour events. The executive course features small undulating greens with many uphill and downhill tee shots, forcing players to make smart decisions on the tee. The rain that kicked off our first couple of tee times gave in to bright skies with some cloud cover by the end of the first nine. Without further delay, let’s move on to our champion spotlight and event recap.
The Boys and Girls 11-14 divisions would be the first ones out on the course, they would play 18 holes of golf in the inclement weather but would hold it together for some excellent rounds regardless. Chris Hansons would finish in first place for the boys after he shot 74(+20) on the challenging course.
The girls 11-14 division would feature Lauren Coast as our champion after she shot 66(+12) with an impressive even par total on the back nine. Kailani Dugdale would shoot 74(+20) and takes home her second place award. Third place goes to Sofina Firouzi after she shot 77(+23) on Reidy Creek’s tough greens and intimidating tee shots.
The Girls 9-10 division was the only other division to play 18 holes apart from the older 11-14 divisions. Lucy Yuan would become our champion after shooting 57(+3) for the day. Our second place award winner would be Sarah Zhao after she shot 76(+22) for the tournament. Ryan Purczynski made her tournament debut this weekend and ends up taking home the third place award after shooting 89(+35).
The Boys 7-8 division is the first group to come in after nine holes of play. Yu Ohashi, hailing all the way from Japan, would become our champion after shooting 32(+5). Second place was awarded to Mason Hotka after he shot 36(+9) on the tough little track. Lastly, Aiden Dinani would shoot 37(+10) and is awarded the third place trophy for his efforts.
6 and under
The Boys and Girls 6 and under divisions would be the final groups to come in to scoring. Beginning with the boys, we find Zachary Luo atop the leader board after his impressive round of 31(+4), assuring his victory. Kevin Ramsey played well and would shoot 48(+21) to guarantee his second place finish.
The Girls 6 and under are next up in our champion spotlight. Kate Hu would shoot 44(+17) and becomes are champion after some consistent golf. Second place was then awarded to Janette Dunn who shot 46(+19), very nearly forcing a play off with her excellent play over nine holes of golf.
