5.26-27: Memorial Weekend WS Championship Recap

Future Champions headed back down to the desert for our Memorial Day tournament in which hosted over 100 players. The Boys division played at the PGA West Norman course while the Girls division played at the La Quinta Resort. Windy conditions took place over the 1st day which brought down temperatures but as Day 1 brought the hot temperatures back up as players looked to go low during the final day. All Top 2 finishers from each event earn an exception into the 2018 Callaway World Championship in July at Mission Hills.

Starting with our Girls 15-18 division, coming in a tie for 2nd place are sisters Annika Yturralde (80, 78) and Catalin Yturralde (82,76) from La Mesa, CA. Winning the division is Kailee Welch from Huntigion, CA carding a round of 77, 80.

With the Boys 15-18 division, it was a close match up coming down the final holes, coming in 4th place from Hermosa Beach, CA is Aidan Oliver (76,73). In 3rd place from Mission Viejo, CA is Christian Schrodt (76, 70). From Arroyo Grande, CA carding a round of 73, 71 and taking home 2nd place is Owen Avrit. Winning the division from Canada shooting an 70, 73 is Freddy Sun.

Our Girls 13-14 division battled through tough conditions as Taylor Riley finished in 2nd place carding an round of 88, 76. Coming from Las Vegas, Nevada and winning the division is Lauren Pham carding an round of 79, 79.

With the Boys 13-14 division they brought the competition at PGA West as Nathan Sampson came in 3rd place carding an round of 78,75. While from Coronado, CA Easton Phillips carding an round of 78, 74. Winning the division from Chula Vista, CA is Rei Harashima with a solid performance of 79, 72.

 

Our final girls division is the Girls 12 & Under in which Jaylen Wan from Hawaii carded an 86, 93. Coming in 2nd place from Walnut, CA is Annabelle Chan with an round of 86, 82. Winning the division is Isabella Gunasayan from Arroyo Grande with an round of 78, 79.

Winning the Boys 12 & Under division from Ladera Ranch, CA is Ridge Hughes carding a round of 87, 81.
