Future Champions Golf was involved in three events this past weekend and acted as host to two of them. The National Tour made its way out to Henderson, NV just south of Las Vegas to host an event at Revere Golf Club on the Concord course. The course models itself on the midnight ride of Paul Revere with courses named after two of the most important battles in our nation’s history, the battles of Lexington and Concord. The course played just over 6500 yards for the Boys college prep division and provided ample challenge with undulating fairways, tough pin positions, and blind tee shots.
The Boys College Prep division would come in after two days of play with some excellent scoring, but Charle Magruder from Las Vegas, NV would take home the champion’s award after shooting 70-71 for a tournament total of 141(-3). Grant McKay would shoot 71-71 after two very consistent rounds of golf for a two day total of 142(-2) which guaranteed his second place finish. Jungho Shin from Korea would take third place after shooting 70-75 to total 145 for the tournament. Congratulations to all players in our Boys college prep division, we look forward to seeing you at our next National Tour Event.
The Girls College prep division was the next to come in. After two days of play first place was awarded to Jisun Kim from Korea after her rounds of 76-77 for a two day total of 153(+9). Angela Heo from Korea would take home the second place award after shooting 74-82 for a tournament total of 156(+12). Third place was awarded to Ayoung Jeon, also hailing from Korea, after shooting 78-82 for a total of 160(+16) after two days of play. Congratulations to all players in our girls college prep division, we look forward to seeing you play in our National Tour soon.
Michelle Liu from Vancouver, BC would shoot 83-85 for a two day total of 168 to finish in First place in her division. Congratulations Michelle, we look forward to watching you play in your next FCG event.
Moving on to our single day competitors, we have our Boys 11-12 division up next in our champion spotlight. Sihwan lee from Korea would shoot 76(+4) on the demanding course to take home the first place award. Ryan Barish from Henderson, NV would shoot 85(+13) and is awarded second place for his efforts. Our boys 10 and under division would see Gawhan Lee from Korea as our champion after he shot 85(+13). Congratulations to all 12 and under players in our boys divisions! We look forward to your next event on the National Tour.
Future Champions Golf would like to extend thanks to all staff, volunteers, players, and of course, the parents. Finally, we would like to offer a special thank you to Callaway golf for providing balls to our players as tee prizes.
