National Tour: Palm Springs Classic

The Future Champions Golf National Tour headed out to the desert this past weekend to the Cimarron Golf Resort playing the Boulder Course. The boys had one good size field for the College Prep Division while the girls had two divisions to choose from: College Prep & 14-Under. The sun was shining, but those desert high-winds provided quite an interesting round for our players. Let’s Check out those results:

 

Over the two-day event, Vera Markevich shot a second round 1-under to end the tournament as such and champion of this event. The next two place finishers made 5 birdies each over the weekend, Kornkamol Sukaree ended at 143 for second place and coming in third was Madison Walker.

 

The Boys College Prep Division had some great playing! First day of play yielded quite a few birdies from Gun Moon, who had 4 each nine ending his first day at 5 under! 6 under for the tournament to take home his first place title. Hyunjin Kim wasn’t far off the birdie train; in his second round, clocked 3 birdies each nine to end the tournament at even par, taking home second place. It was birdie central for our top finishers as Mitchell Abbott made 4 birdies in his final round to end the tournament at 144 for this place.

 

The girls 14-under division saw Berlin Long from Utah come out on top with a two-day total of 161, Erin Kulas from the hometown of the tournament one stroke back for second and third place went to Michelle Liu with a two-day total of 166.

 

2017 has been great so far, with even more great evens ahead. We will continue to strive to make bigger and better events in order to provide junior golfers with great opportunities to showcase their talent. Our main goal is to empower youth through the game of golf with instruction programs, individual lessons and great junior golf tournaments.
