National Tour Series at San Clemente

  • by

This past weekend, San Clemente Golf Course hosted one of our National Tour Series events with over seventy players in the field. The course provided ample challenge to all participants with spotty rain on Sunday. Though the soggy conditions made the day seam dreary, the field met the challenge with vigor. Getting down to business, Future Champions Golf would like to acknowledge the top 5 finishers in each division.

FCG Boys Division

First in the spotlight we have the Boys 11-12 division. The boys played 18 holes of golf before wrapping up the tournament and awarding Tiger Tahvildari from Santa Ana first place after a solid round of 76. Finishing a stroke behind Tiger for a score of 77 we find Justin Dang from Anaheim and You Seong Choi from Hacienda Heights. Kevin An of Riverside would take the fourth place award home after finishing the tournament with 80 strokes after 18 holes. And finishing only a single stroke behind An is Hogan Park from Walnut, a tournament total of 81 solidifies his top 5 finish. Congratulations to all players in the Boys 11-12 division, we look forward to seeing you at the next event.

FCG GIRLS Division

Going in order of age, we next have our Girls 14 and Under division, all of whom played 36 holes of golf. Finishing the tournament with only 7 strokes over par, Emma Han from Walnut takes home the first place award with 153 strokes. Lauren Gomez from San Diego finished only a few strokes behind Han with two very consistent rounds of 78, totaling 156 for the tournament. Taking third place after shooting 159 strokes after two days of golf we have Jennifer Cai from Irvine. Fourth place will go to Irene Park from Rowland Heights after she played some decent golf to make the top 5, finishing with 167 strokes after two days. Finally we have Isabella Ranches, who only a couple of strokes behind Park totaling 169 strokes, also manages to squeeze into the top five after a good weekend of golf. Congratulations to all players in this division, we look forward to seeing you at your next event.

Girls

Next up in our top 5 showcase we find our College Prep Girls division. Storming away with the victory is Kornkamol Sukaree of Anaheim. A first round 68 gave Sukaree plenty of breathing room as she fires in another low round on the second day to total only 139 strokes. April Ranches would take second place after shooting 2 under par on the second day to get her total score back to even par at 146 strokes.  Third place would be split between Sophia Karnazes from Carlsbad and Chloe Carraway from Tustin, with Karnazes taking third place after a card off. Karnazes, with a score of 74 on the second day, would just beat out Caraway’s 76 although both totaled 152 strokes after two days. Finishing off this age divisions top 5 spot light we have Sabrina Nguyen from Escondido who finishes with 154 strokes after 2 days of golf. Congratulations to all players in the division, we look forward to hosting your next event.

girl boys

Last but not least we have our Boys College Prep division. After firing rounds of 66-69 firing 135, Puwit Anupansuebsai from Anaheim goes home as our champion. William Tse from Irvine played well, and though he couldn’t quite catch the leader he still takes home second place with 142 strokes. Third Place belongs to Ryan Smith from Carlsbad who shot one under par for the tournament totaling 143 strokes. A three card off would decide fourth and fifth place with all three totaling 144. Fourth Place goes to Noah Henderson after shooting under par on the second day to solidify his finish inside the top 5. Tommy Stephenson and Jose Olazabal matched each other step for step each day, shooting identical score totals. Working backwards from 18 on the first day, the card off victory goes to Tommy Stephenson who made a par on the hardest hole on the back nine. Congratulations to all players in this division and we hope to see you at the next event.
