This past weekend found Future Champions Golf National Tour at Twin Oaks in San Marcos. After rolling tee times the first day and a shotgun start on the second all players were excited to see where they finished.
Beginning with our players who competed for 18 holes, we have the Boys 10 and under division. Coming in first place with an impressive 78 (+6), is Kent Karlstrom from Rancho Mirage, CA. Samuel Amoroso is accustomed to playing with Karlstrom in our National Tour events and take second place after an 83 (+11), finish for 18 holes. Rounding out our boy 10 and under division is Horry Ren, with 119 strokes (+47) for the tournament. Congratulations to all finishers in the division and we wish you the best of luck in your coming tournaments.
Moving right along, the next to finish would be the Boys 11-12 division. It was a heated battle to take home the win, but David Yoon would prevail after finishing with a 74 (+2) for the tournament. Second place would go to Justin Dang who shot 75 (+3). Right behind Yoon and Dang is Darren Ho, who would shoot 76 (+4). These boys battled it out on the course and look forward to the next opportunity to take each other on. We wish all participants in this division luck in their coming tournaments; we will see you at the next National Tour event.
Next up come our older players who completed 36 holes, we’ll begin with our Girls 14 and under division. Finishing with her lowest 2 day tournament total of 144 (E) is Lauren Gomez. Last in the limelight, though certainly not least, is the Boys College Prep division. After completely tearing apart the golf course, Adam Matteson from San Diego would take home the first place award. Matteson shot 69-67 for a two day total of 136(-8), leaving much of the field in his wake. Noah Henderson would play his hardest to try and keep up with Matteson and after shooting 72-70, he would total 142 (-2) at the end of the tournament. Our third place finisher is somewhat of a veteran at FCG. Yuki Moriyama from San Diego finishes with two rounds in the low 70s, 73-70 respectively, for a two day total of 143 (-1). Congratulations to all finishers, we look forward to having you at our next National Tour Event.
Future Champions Golf would like to extend a special thank you to Twin Oaks Golf Course for allowing us to use their facility and for being such good hosts, with the hard work and dedication from the staff this event could not have ran as smoothly as it did. We would also like to thank Arccos Golf for providing our college prep champions with their very own Arccos GPS Tracking systems. Finally, we would like to thank all the players, staff, volunteers and of course the parents. If not for you, Future Champions Golf would not be the driving force that it is today.
