Team Mexico wins Inaugural Three Nations Cup with Dramatic Final Round Comeback
Menifee, California – The inaugural Three Nations Cup concluded in dramatic fashion at Menifee Lakes Country Club, as Team Mexico delivered an unforgettable final round performance to capture the championship inside the playing of the prestigious FCG Western States Cup.
After Day 1, Team USA held the advantage in the two-day international team competition featuring 8-player squads from the United States, Mexico, and Canada, with the top six scores counting each day. But championship golf is about resilience — and Team Mexico showed exactly what that looks like.

Team Mexico fired an impressive -1 team score in Round 2, applying pressure throughout the day and erasing the overnight deficit. With poise, depth, and clutch performances across their lineup, Mexico surged into a tie with Team USA at +6 overall — claiming the inaugural title via their remarkable comeback effort and final-day momentum.
The victory marks a historic moment for the Three Nations Cup, a new international platform designed to bring together elite junior golfers from across North America in true team competition. The format — eight players per country with six scores counting — showcased depth, unity, and national pride at the highest level.
A New International Tradition Begins
The Three Nations Cup was created to strengthen global pathways and provide meaningful international competition opportunities for junior golfers. The atmosphere throughout the week reflected the spirit of camaraderie and competitive excellence that defines the FCG Tour.
“We are incredibly proud of all three teams and the passion they brought to this inaugural event,” said Chris Smeal, Founder of Future Champions Golf. “To see Team Mexico battle back the way they did shows the power of team golf and what this event can become for years to come.”
