Hello, I’m Zachary Wood. I’m a junior at Millikan High School in Long Beach CA.
I was introduced to golf at a young age and started participating in competitive tournaments at the age of seven. I played in Long Beach Junior Golf, US Kids, SCPGA Junior, and Junior PGA events, and I have achieved success at every level. With an unwavering determination and focus on the future, I’m truly unstoppable.
In October of last year, I had the privilege of being invited to participate in the 2nd annual TGR Jr Invitational at Pebble Beach. Out of over 1500 applicants, only 60 kids were selected to compete. Each applicant was required to submit an essay and answer a series of questions on video. It was an incredible honor to be chosen by TGR/Tiger Woods to compete at Pebble Beach. I was able to play at both the Hay and Spanish Bay courses.
Currently, I’m a member of the Millikan High School varsity golf team, where I’ve earned co-captain status. Currently, I’m playing with a 4 handicap, that’s trending down. I have played my way into the Moore League & CIF championships each year. I have played on the Varsity team since my freshman year.
I also work hard in the classroom and take my education seriously. I’m currently enrolled in the MBA Business Program, earning academic accolades, including honor roll and student of the month, my current GPA is 3.54.
I believe I’d be a great addition to any team with my passion for learning, getting better, and winning. I’m a hard worker and am focused on having success at the collegiate level. I look forward to learning about any opportunity to play collegiately. Thank you.
